Edvard Grieg: Melody op. 47, no. 3

I made this transcription for one of my adult students who wanted to play this beautiful composition.

I removed the second voice in the right hand to simplify it - in this way, she could still enjoy this melancholic piece and focus on the melody instead of two voiced playing. I think it is important to support my students in their interests and find a way to play their favourite songs at their current technical level. I don’t believe this kind of help means avoiding challenges. It can be rewarding to enjoy a piece one wishes to learn and then play the more complex original later in life.
